It is my pleasure to announce that, Peter J. Calvanese, Esq. has been appointed a member of the Law Committee of the New York State Land Title Association, for the 2017 – 2018 year. Peter will join Underwriter counsels and other top agents in reviewing the NYSLTA Recommended Practices.
The Law Committee of the NYSLTA has “the responsibility for monitoring , analyzing and reporting on the effect of current judicial decisions and new laws affecting ownership of real property and interests therein, including issues relating to land surveys and other matters which otherwise may affect the land title industry.”
“The Law Committee is also charged with maintaining the Recommended Practices document, which established the procedural conventions for Member companies.” and, “on occasion, the Law Committee is called upon by the Legislative Committee to assist in the drafting of language for proposed legislation”, affecting the Industry.”
